Highest Bankruptcy Rate

Nevada had the highest overall bankruptcy rate, while Alaska had the lowest. Meanwhile, personal bankruptcies rose 15 percent in the first half of 2010, while business filings declined 4 percent, the institute says.


Nationally, filings show that bankruptcies are on pace to surpass 1.6 million by year's end, the American Bankruptcy Institute said.
